CURRENT
ISSUES:
PRORA Projects Update: In October, 2001,
voters approved the bond issues needed for our PRORA upper Spain median construction,
and our PRORA sidewalks project. The upper Spain
Median and paving of the space between the curb and the sidewalk on Spain
and Lowell are complete. The paved walkway on the west side of Tramway from
Spain to Academy will be completed soon.
Now that the
medians are finished, regular maintenance in the form of cleanup
is required. Volunteers to help keep it looking good are welcome. Median
cleanup for Lowell is being done by Dennis Woywood and Connie Ryan on the
second Satuday of every month from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Join us - this is
the same time as aluminium recycling at the corner of Tamarac and Lowell.
We are also trying to keep the Spain median looking good by removing the
trash, bottles, and cans. We need more help; it is a bit too much for only
two of us. Call Gena Lou Woywood at 275-1277 if you would like to help.
Aluminum recycling provides money to perform
any purchased maintenance of our common area landscape. Please bring your
aluminum (not steel please) to the corner of Tamarac and and San Victorio
on the second Saturday of each month between 10:00 and 11:00 a.m. If you
can't make it down there, leave them at your curb and we will pick them up
at 11:00 a.m.
HOT ITEMS:
1. Volunteers
are needed: 1) a PRORA district 8 board
representative (see below for the PRORA districts map), 2) a historian, 3)
holiday commitee chair, and 4) a Coalition representative. Contact Brian
Davis (e-mail link below) if you are interested.
